About
Hello, my name is Kevin Ingalls and I’m a graphic/interactive designer living in Rockville, MD. I’m on a mission to confront bad design and turn it around. With over 8 years of experience with interactive, print, and multimedia design, I aim to innovate and inspire through the use of design. The Kevingalls.com name has gone through many versions in the last 10 years. This website in its current state was created to broadcast my thoughts and experiences in design, and serve as a place for friends and family to see what I’m up to outside of work. Please feel free to contact me or leave comments on the site. At the end of every day I want to know I have learned something and spread some joy. Now for the boring stuff…
I was born in Rockville, MD and graduated high school in 2000. Even before high school, I was monkeying around with web design and I’ve been illustrating since I could hold a crayon. After graduation I left Maryland to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. My major was Business/Marketing. After a year I decided Business wasn’t what I wanted to focus in, and chose to pursue Graphic Design. I moved to Atlanta, GA and attended SCAD, The Savannah College of Art & Design (Atlanta campus.) My major was Graphic Design, but that is a very broad subject. I took classes in Art History, Illustration, Motion Graphics, Animation, Typography, Information Design, and Web Design, to name a few. While attending SCAD I began Wirk Design with my business partner and roommate at the time, Roger Wong. Wirk Design is our interactive and print design shop. In addition to being a partner at Wirk Design, I currently work as a Creative Strategist at Boost Labs, a web marketing firm. I have worked for print, television, and interactive design studios. I’ve done work for clients such as Coca-Cola, Motorola, AT&T, Sprint, the federal government, and many others.
I enjoy graphic & interactive design, branding, writing comedy, filming, motion graphics, photography, motorsports, web marketing, traveling, politics, and investing. This website was created to keep my friends, family, professors, coworkers, and girlfriend informed of what I’m up to.
